Casebook: Episode 1 is an extraordinary game. Developed by talented New Zealand team, Areograph, it was clearly born out of passion and commitment to both great storytelling and innovation in game design.

The story goes like this…

The Bircherman children have been kidnapped and it’s up to you, the crime scene investigator, to search for evidence to solve the crime.

The game opens with well-edited and scripted cinematics which lead seamlessly into a game itself, set entirely in a 3D, photorealistic world. The gameplay combines familiar elements of hidden object and adventure interspersed with forensic mini-games.

Casebook’s story unfolds like a film and there is real tension to solve the crime before it’s too late. The game is a much darker and more realistic than a lot of other crime fiction games available which should appeal to the legions of fans of tremendously popular television series like CSI and NCIS.

Due to the large file size there’s no trial available for the game so I’ve included the game’s trailer below.
